Our story

When our founders were still working for an employer, it struck them that almost every department worked in a data-driven way, except HR. Decisions about reviews, development and compensation were often based on gut feeling.

The numbers also show a similar trend: 4 in 5 employees experience their review process as unfair (Gallup, 2024). And 86% of workers do not feel encouraged to grow in their current job, leading to job hopping and turnover.

Time for fair, more objective performance reviews. But since the ultimate solution did not exist yet, in 2018, Rick, Paul and Joost Kuijf, three brothers, decided to shake up the HR market themselves. With Learned: software for objective Performance Management.

By now, more than 250 companies are using our software to improve performance, increase engagement and reduce employee turnover. Those benefits in turn make organisations more agile than ever – able to respond to rapidly changing market conditions, and the needs of new generations of workers.
