We have already achieved great results in a short time. The launch of the Learned platform has been a big deal, and plenty of calls have been scheduled recently. A lot of feedback is also exchanged and employees are becoming more aware of what they want to develop in the coming year,” Melissa says.

In the heart of Amsterdam you will find the office of Q Backoffice; the HR, Operations & Finance support label that enables the business growth of the various other affiliated labels of this fast-growing organization.

“With Q Backoffice, we currently support all of our labels, including: DIQQ (IT recruitment), Rebels (IT secondment), Ice Cream Media (Media agency), Sqales (Sales), Proteqt (Recruitment in Security) and Vaqancies (Recruitment ATS). All our labels are growing very fast and support each other in the work they specialize in,” said Melissa Schipper, HR Generalist.

The challenge: The goals and skills of employees have not been sufficiently identified

As you might expect, working with so many different labels brings certain challenges in addition to many benefits. Logically, a lot of the qualities and talents of the staff are already being used between labels, but the labels are growing so fast that the overview of individual goals and skills is sometimes lost. Q Backoffice was therefore created to streamline the “back end” of the organization and recently started using Learned to shape all operational processes for managing employees in one environment.

“We are growing too fast to manage everything now without a tool. Employees often know very well for themselves what their goals are and what it takes to achieve those goals, but in order to continue to professionalize as an organization, we also need to map out these goals and skills at the organizational level,” Melissa says.

The solution: professionalizing day-to-day management in one environment

Learned was used in the broadest sense from Day 1. The first priority was to establish a structure to digital conversations. This ensured not only that conversations were actually conducted, but also that the valuable outcomes were recorded. In addition, each employee is provided with a digital job profile. In this way, everyone has an idea of what skills are expected of him or her for that position, and the foundation is laid for exchanging feedback and setting goals.

“We want to use the tool to manage and professionalize all our daily processes. With this we want to offer our employees opportunities for advancement and learn how to give and receive feedback,” says Melissa.

The result: Streamlined coaching and growth opportunities for employees

Several months after the launch of Learned, the impressions are very good! By streamlining the existing processes for managing and coaching employees between all labels into 1 digital environment, there is more overview and valuable time saved by HR.

“We have already achieved great results in a short period of time. The launch of the Learned platform was handled big time and plenty of conversations have been scheduled recently. A lot of feedback is also being exchanged and employees are becoming more aware of what they want to develop in the coming year,” says Melissa.
